Why “I.M.P.A.C.T.” Men’s Ministry?

Here at Westside Victory Church, we believe in men, and believe in their God-given destiny!! The whole role and position of men is under such assault today, and here at WVC, we see the importance of every man. That is why our hearts burn to help strengthen and build up the men in our church to become the leaders that our Heavenly Father has called them to be. As men, we need to be able to understand the role and the position we have in Christ, first as Godly Men, and then as Husbands, Fathers and Sons.

We believe that we need to be men of IMPACT, not just with the people we meet, but also, most importantly, with the people that are closest to us, like our family and friends. Becoming the man that God has called you to be is not easy, but when you start to step into what God has planned for you, the rewards for both you and your family are overwhelming. All men, when given the chance to become better men for their families, should not pass up the opportunity to see their families improve and for them to become better husbands, fathers and sons.

One of the greatest needs in the Church right now is for strong and healthy Men’s Ministries to be birthed to strengthen men and help them fulfill their full potential. That is why IMPACT was born. We have called the men’s ministry “IMPACT Men’s Ministry” because:

1. We Want Our Men To Be IMPACTED For Themselves, and
2. We Want The Men Of WVC To Become Men Of IMPACT!!
   
3. We want to see our men become a success in every area of life!!

See, the truth is that there are Different Levels Of Living…

• Survival » barely getting by…,
• Sustenance » getting by…,
• Success » getting by well…,
• Significance » getting by well and IMPACTING others positively!

The burning desire of WVC Men is to live a life of Significance. We don’t want to just survive, but to live significant lives. How can we go past Survival, past Sustenance, and even past Success to Significance? By getting involved in IMPACT… IMPACT will equip men with practical life teaching, as well as strong fellowship & close relationships:

• I » Intimacy With God » Our primary focus should be Intimacy With God. This is the path to success & significance (John 15)! At IMPACT we will look at the “want to’s”, and the “how to’s” of intimacy with God! IMPACT will address Intimacy With God in a positive & practical way!!
• M » Marriage, Family, & Relationships In Order » elationships are the key to productivity. A lot of men face difficulty in relationships, and it affects them on the job and other crucial areas. Our ability to truly IMPACT others depends on our relationships with them. Starting with marriage, dating, and the family, IMPACT will strive to teach practical, simple principles for personal growth in relationships.
• P » Purpose Driven & Potential Focused » Simply put, you are amazing: a work of art who God predestined to become great and do great things. Eph.2:10. God Himself knit together your body, mind, emotions, gifts, abilities, talents, passions, & personality. He wired you the way you are because He has a book He has written about your life. Psalm 139:13-18. Finding & fulfilling the purpose of God for your life, and maximizing your potential are the two main keys to boosting the male ego. God doesn’t have a problem with the male ego if it is boosted properly: by fulfilling our God-given purpose and potential!! IMPACT will get down to the nitty-gritty of helping men to figure out who they are & what they are supposed to do!!
• A » Accountable to God, To Family, To Church, To Leaders, To One Another » We are all in authority in our homes, and yet to be able to exercise that authority well, we need to be properly positioned under authority. To the degree that a man can properly function under authority (under church leaders & others), to that same degree will they function well when they are in authority! Bottom line: we need to be accountable!! IMPACT will focus on teaching men practical, relevant life skills in accountability and authority!!
• C » Caring Men Of Character » Being a “real” man is not about being tough or career or macho or whatever: it’s about being like Christ!! Christ was a “real” man; filled with both care and character!! Men need to use their strength to become caring men of sensitivity and understanding in the home. Men need to develop exceptional character!! IMPACT will work hard to teach practical and relevant life skills for growing in Christ-likeness, caring and character!!
• T » Trustworthy With People / Teaching In The Home » Many men are not trustworthy, running from responsibility & obligation. IMPACT will help us develop the skills which make us dependable, faithful, reliable, steady men of character. We’ll also look in a practical way at how we can fulfill the teaching ministry of a priest in the home!!
